HELEN MIEDZINSKI
Founder & Principal Lawyer
Helen is an expert mediator and can skillfully negotiate successful resolutions, often without having to turn to costly court cases. With more than two decades of experience working in the High Court and the Supreme Court, she specialises in Family Law, Wills & Estates, Succession Planning and Conveyancing. In her spare time, Helen likes to give back to her community, regularly offering free Will advice, through the Salvation Army. She also loves cooking, dancing, getting out into nature, watching music and theatre performances, and spending time with her family and friends.
Helen Miedzinski is the founder and Principal Lawyer for the firm. Through her nearly 20 years of experience, Helen has become a skilled mediator and an expert in family law, wills, estates, and Succession Act matters.
After working as an office manager and paralegal at a city law firm, Helen was admitted as a Legal Practitioner to the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 1994 and as a Legal Practitioner to the High Court of Australia in 2000. She has also attained two additional accreditations since then: an Attorney General Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner in 2008 and a nationally accredited Mediator, through the National Mediator Accreditation System (NMAS), in 2012.
Helen enjoys working with people and helping them resolve their legal issues. She spends time listening to each of her clients and she customises her services to fit their individual needs. Her exceptional skills and compassion have garnered her many loyal clients, who value her as both a lawyer and as a trusted confidant.
Along with her work at H A Miedzinski Lawyers, Helen serves on the Family Law Panel of Legal Aid, and she serves on the Mediators Panel of both the District Court of New South Wales and the Law Society of New South Wales. She is also a member of the Family Law section of the Law Council of Australia, the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, and LEADR (the Association of Dispute Resolvers), as well as a committee member of the Sutherland/St. George Law Society.
Helen strives to improve herself whenever she can, taking courses and workshops on a regular basis. Most recently, Helen attended a five-day seminar in the United States with the Association of Family Conciliation Courts, discussing the latest research, programs, policies, and practice within the field of family law.
She has also recently completed the AVERT Family Violence course, a government-sponsored training regarding domestic violence, and a Child in Practice Workshop, learning to better assess the psychological needs of children involved in family law disputes.
